Once you've chosen your lucky number, switching to it involves a few important steps. You'll need to update various accounts and services linked to your old number. To make it easier, we've prepared this guide. Let's see what you need to update and how to do it.

First step: Check where you old number is linked.

Everything linked to your old number needs to be updated, especially banking services. Failing to update your number could cause issues with financial transactions. We recommend converting your old number to a prepaid package and keeping the SIM in a spare phone. This way you can still receive OTPs and verification codes until all services are updated. Once you're sure everything is covered, you can safely deactivate the old number.

1. How to Update Your New Number Linked to Mobile Banking and PromptPay

First, activate your new number. The easiest way to update your number is by visiting your preferred bank branch with your passbook and original ID card.

Inform the bank of the number change. There are now several channels to do this, but you generally still need to submit a form at a branch. For example:

• Krungthai Bank: You can update through 3 channels:
  1. At a branch: Bring your passbook and ID card.
  2. ATM/ADM:
     • Select "Other Services" twice
     • Change password
     • Register/Update services
     • Chosse "KTB Netbank"
     • Register/Update phone number
     • Enter the new number and confirm
  3. KTB netbank
     • Install two applications: KTB Netbank and VDO@netbank
     • Log into KTB Netbank
     • Select "All Services" (top-left corner of the app)
     • Choose the "Talk to Net Offer" icon

• Kasikornthai Bank: Recommended to cance and re-register PromptPay through 5 channels:
  1. K-Contact Center: Call 0 2888 8888, press 812 to cancel PromptPay (available 24/7).
  2. K PLUS App: Go to PromptPay > Cancel > Re-register with the new number.
  3. K-Cyber Banking: From the "Register Service" menu > PromptPay > Cancel one number, then re-register the new number.
  4. K-ATM: Select PromptPay/Register Service/SMS Alerts/K PLUS/K-Cyber/Others" > PromptPay > Cancel PromptPay > Re-register (available 6.00 AM - 10.00 PM).
  5. At any Kasikornthai Bank branch: Bring your passbook and ID card.

• Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) Update your new number at a branch with your passbook and ID card. Then, unlink the old number and link the new one through 3 channels:
  1. SCB ATMs
  2. Any SCB brance nationwide
  3. SCB Easy Net / Easy App

• Krungsri Bank
  1. If the old number is still active, you can update it at a branch or online. Use the OTP sent to the old number to confirm.
  2. If the old number is inactive, fill out the form at a branch. In the KMA app, go to Change Mobile Number > Enter ID and new number > Click "Next" > Capture the screen and take it to the branch with your passbook and ID card.

• TMB Bank You can update your PromptPay number via 5 channels:
  1. Any TMB branch
  2. ATM/ADM machines
  3. TMB TOUCH App
  4. TMB Internet BAnking

2. How to Update the Number Linked to Your Credit Card

You need to update both your contact number and the number for receiving OTPs and SMS notifications. It's best to update your credit card database number first by contacting the bank's call center or visiting a branch. Then, update your OTP online.

For example, with Kasikorn Bank: Call the K-Contact Center at 0 2888 8888. Press 1 for Thai language, then press 5, followed by 0. After updating your number, go to kasikornbank.com to change the OTP number: Select "Register for Service" > Choose "Online Services Registration" Select "Verified by VISA" for credit cards > Update your information.

3. How to Change Your Number Without Losing Your LINE Account

• iOS: Turn off the device, insert the new SIM, and activate it. Open the LINE app > Home > Settings (gear icon) > Account > Phone Number > Next > Enter the new number > Confirm via SMS.
• Android: Follow the same steps through Settings (gear icon) > Account > Change Phone Number.

4. How to Update Your Number Linked to Google Play / App Store

• Google Play:
  • Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone or tablet.
  • Tap the Menu icon > Account > Add a new payment method.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

• App Store:
  • Go to appleid.apple.com.
  • Log in with your Apple ID.
  • A verification code will be sent to your current registered number.
  • Enter the received verification code.
  • Navigate to the Security menu.
  • Add your new trusted phone number.

5. How to Change Your Number While Retaining Your dtac Account and Usage History

Bring your original and a copy of your ID card and SIM card to any dtac hall. You need to cancel the old number, clear any outstanding bills, and choose a new number there.
